Gathering WMI information with linux box

Post by creposukre »

Hi, I've a Cacti linux box (Ubuntu server) and I would like to monitor Windows servers for a company. At home, I've a windows server monitoring himself with Cacti so i can easily gather WMI information and i would like to do the same with the linux box. 8)
In fact, i tried to pick up some information with NSclient installed on windows servers (with check_nt on the other side, obviously) but it's quite annoying and it's not as simple as I use to do at home with WMI. :(
So, I would like to do the same in my company as I do at home, and i heard it's not an impossible thing... :-?
So, can you help me ?
Is it a good idea ?

PS: My versions of cacti, rrdtool, etc. are the latest :D

There is a way to do it with PHP that I've read about.
