threshold and starting batch-file

Post by plustotal »

At this moment on a threshold, we receive e-mail from cacti/threshold.

Is it possible that not only cacti send a e-mail, but cacti start a batch-file?

Thanks

*bump*

would be really nice with a possibility du trigger some external scripts or batches if a threshold is breached

It is planned for a future version, as the entire plugin is being redesigned to allow more flexibility in nearly every aspect, this is a very small part of the redesign.

any update to this? we're very happy with the email and graph, but would also like to extend the alert with some other form of action..i.e. run some sort of script (cache flow on that interface?)

Actually, I'm only a few days from having this done. I'm currently rewriting the entire alerting, and adding the ability to do basically anything you want, you just need to write a module for it.

This will be sweet when it's complete... The issue we're having is that e-mail alerts don't work if the Exchange server or MPLS/internet lines go down, so we want to have thold run a script to send SMS alerts via a mobile connected to the server ^_^
