Datasource not creaing .rrd or getting data

Hi,

I have created a polling host and added a data source to query interface
stats for a specific index but the .rrd file is not created. I have manually
created the .rrd as cacti user using the debug output but cacti still does not
gather data for this host.

I have many other devices working fine, but this one handles loads of L2TP sessions so has approx 20k virtual interfaces in the ifIndex (hence I cant query the polling host for a complete list of interfaces).

If I run ' /usr/local/bin/php /www/htdocs/cacti/cmd.php' as the cacti user
there is no mention of the data source/host I have configured.

Is the issue the large number of interfaces?
