Cacti, not polling + drawing

Post by David C »

Hello all,

I'm having some problem with my polling.

I'm using Centos 5.x

I can't seem to get the graphs out and my crontab doesn't seem to be working.

In my sys utilities > cacti log, poller.php doesn't seem to run every 5 minutes.
*/5 * * * * php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1
This is what's in the crontab -e of my user

When I manually run poller.php on my shell, this is what I get
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.
Waiting on 3/3 pollers.

Warning: pclose(): 50 is not a valid stream resource in /var/www/html/cacti/lib/rrd.php on line 47
Can anyone help?

I'm also having some trouble getting cacti to show my network interfaces on my server. (I want to track bandwidth coming in/out of this server). But I think that's another question for another time.

Same problem on fedora Core6

Post by cedric.lelu »

Hello
I have exactly the same problem on a fedora Core 6.
I can't explain why, but on thursday, i'll works and on friday not.

I've taped :
# php /var/www/html/cacti/cmd.php
and some answer was :
sh: /perl: Aucun fichier ou rertoire de ce type
-> I translate : sh: /perl : no files or directory of this type...

I've disabled all devices except the localhost, and it's doesn't work. What is curious to, is that it happens on the 7/07/2007 as you...

Please always call poller.php, not cmd.php
Make sure to use /full/path/to/perl in all scripts

Cacti, not polling + drawing

When I wrote poller.php, I always have the mistake
Waiting for 2/2 poller.
First I had configured more than 20 pollers.
WIth this errors, I had disabled all devices except the localhost, but always have "Waitig for pollers"...

I have rebooted many times... with always the same result.

So I have make another server (there are Virtual Machine), backup the configuration with a mysqldump, and restartting a new cacti server.

And it's working.... but I don't know why in the middle of a week, without making anything, the cacti polling had stopping working...

Find some basic help at the second link of my signature (e.g. poller_output table, php memory ...)
