Some rrd not updated anymore

Post by crieur.com »

Hi all

I have a strange behavior :
Cacti just stop updating some rrd one day ago, the polling is still done.

In the logs when I use the DEBUG level I see

1) the polling command through CMD
2) then the SQL Exec: "insert into poller_output
3) no rrdtool update after that

Only 10 rrd are behaving like that , the others are ok...

Anyone ?

Run poller.php from a command line and look for RRDupdate issue. Also, when the poller is finished, look to see if the poller_output table is empty.

Report your findings here.

I ran the poller in cmdline mode and there is no " rrdtoo update " for these rrd and the poller_output table contains 114542 rows

I must say that I use a poller every minute with a patch found here to enable a poller frequency of 1 min

(and PIA Arch also and 3 plugins)

Bye

Increase your PHP memory in php.ini to 128MBytes. Then run the following attached script. Place it in your Cacti root directory.

Thank you "TheWitness"

Is it a bug or is it due to something I've done ?

I was obliged to stop the script after may hours running (cause someone wanted to sleep and I had to shut down my workstation ;-)

What I meant is, will I have to use this script again in the future or is it ok ?

Bye and again thanks ;-)

No, this is likely due to insufficient memory from PHP to process all of the RRD files. With the higher memory setting, you should not experience this problem again.
