I've got a cheap router that has SNMP v1 capability that is showing an unknown status and the graphs for it aren't showing up. I ran the command that one of the data sources shows in debug mode manually:
This got one of the graphs to show up, so whatever is causing the problem is happening before cacti would get to this point. Cacti is able to pull SNMP data from the device and the query "SNMP - Interface Statistics" returned "Success [33 Items, 6 Rows]". I can also perform a verbose query and I'm seeing all of the correct info returned.
This has really got me stumped. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
One other piece of information:
Under the "custom data" section of the data source for one of the graphs, I see "Data query data sources must be created through New Graphs." My other devices, which are graphing properly, have an index type and index specified here.
Also, the poller cache does not show this device, but the SNMP cache does.
I've been working with Cacti for a while and I'm fairly comfortable with setting up devices from existing templates. I created the graphs by going to the device's configuration page and hitting the "Create Graphs" link as you suggest.
Btw, I think I forgot to mention that I've got localhost and a wireless access point being graphed successfully right now.
I just wanted to report back on this. I've been seeing a lot of strange things going on with the router, so I'm thinking that the firmware is just hosed on it. I don't think it's a cacti issue.
