How to poll some hosts?

Post by oun »

How to configure cacti or poller so it can poll some hosts? I have many network devices added to the cacti and some of those host need to be polled every minute. I've already set up my templates and datasources for the host that need to update every minutes and set the crontab (I used Solaris as cacti server) to run poller every minutes. The result is the cacti server is in heavy loaded because I have many devices added to it. So my solution is to add another poller for polling some specific device every minutes and keep the old poller that runs every 5 minutes as is. Does anyone know how to do it???
Thanks in advance.

I would look at the 1 minute interval patch for Cacti, or simply run your poller every minute. Please review the PDF file under the 1 minute patch section of the add-on's forum to understand what else you must do.

Cacti 0.8.6k, will support native multiple poller intervals. It will be released next month.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
