RDPtool error

Post by Daveyboy »

Givens: Ubuntu Server 6.06
Ojective: To create my first graph, a simple graph of a local xp box

Excuse my newbieness.

Installed cacti, configured snmpd.conf, created device, when creating a graph with debugmode enabled get;

RRDTool Command:

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="provisiontest VMware host - Traffic - 127.0.0.1 (MS TCP Loopback)" \
--rigid \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="bits per second" \
--slope-mode \
DEF:a="/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/provisiontest_vmware_host_traffic_in_13.rrd":traffic_in:AVERAGE \
DEF:b="/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/provisiontest_vmware_host_traffic_in_13.rrd":traffic_out:AVERAGE \
CDEF:cdefa=a,8,* \
CDEF:cdeff=b,8,* \
AREA:cdefa#00CF00:"Inbound" \
GPRINT:cdefa:LAST:" Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s" \
COMMENT:"Total In\: 0 bytes\n" \
LINE1:cdeff#002A97:"Outbound" \
GPRINT:cdeff:LAST:"Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdeff:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdeff:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s" \
COMMENT:"Total Out\: 0 bytes"

RRDTool Says:

ERROR: opening '/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/provisiontest_vmware_host_traffic_in_13.rrd': No such file or directory

checked the directory perms, chmod'd /rra and /log to 777. What am I missing here? As a sidenote rra is points to /var/lib/cacti/rra

root@cacti:/usr/share/cacti/site/rra# ls -la
total 8
drwxrwxrwx 2 cactiuser root 4096 Jun 22 21:14 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jun 21 23:15 ..

Please advise.

Which cacti version are you running? What is "Downed Host Detection" set to?

my cacti is fully patched, installed last week (checked patches today), and I'm trying to add a Cisco 3560 and it won't create the rrd's. Just keeps saying (in graph mgmt):

ERROR: opening '/usr/local/share/cacti/rra/cisco_35601_5min_cpu_399.rrd': No such file or directory

I haven't made any changes, and everything else is graphing..

EDIT:

In fact, it is still graphing the devices I already had in it, but EVERYTHING new that I add it give me the about error.

See http://www.cacti.net/download_patches.php for a list of patches. The rpm/tar is NOT patched!
