RELEASED: < 1 Minute to 5 Minute Polling Interval Patch

I have checked everything and did two complete reinstalls to make sure I didn't mess something up. I am running cactid and I see the poller fetching the OIDs every minute. The only thing that I can't get to work is the blasted graphs for 1 minute polling. All other graphs are working.

The only thing I see that I did differently than the PDF was that I created a data query rather than adjusted one so that I would have 5 minute graphing and 1 minute graphing ability. The 1 minute graphs show up as broken images.

The PDF guide seems to go vague in section 4, among other places. If I could get this working, I would contribute a setup guide. I am using 0.8.6j with plugin architecture 1.1 on Linux. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this problem?

I apply the patch to Cacti v0.8.6j and works fine when the poller is set to "Every minute", but under (20, 15 or 10), no graph is created.

There is an alternate open source cron that does 1 second cron. You have to replace your normal cron with it, or setup a wrapper script.

Is the patch for 0.8.6i (with PlugArch 1.1) still available somewhere?

As of an hour ago, the Multi polling patch has now been added to the Plugin Architecture SVN (so basically now you only need 1 patch!). I have also made a few minor enhancements to it, mainly to protect you from setting the interval to a setting, but having the cron run at a different interval. So basically, if your cron is set to 1 minute / 10 sec / whatever, and you have Cacti set to a 5 Minute interval, it will still only poll every 5 minutes no matter what the cron is set to run.

I will probably push out the new version tomorrow after some more testing.

Do you mean the new patch will be OK for cacti 0.8.6i and 0.8.6j ?

No, I have removed the "I" patches from the latest PA SVN, as "J" has been out for 6 months now. If your going to be manually patching cacti files with the latest PA, you might as well upgrade cacti to the latest stable version also. Back porting the patch to old, outdated versions just takes way too much time (most of the time I have to re-patch the files by hand to get a workable patch).

I'm still in "I" because it's the current version in debian stable. I don't like to mix stable and testing software, it's most of the time a source of problems :/

I need a 15m snmp polling interval (5m would be too intrusive and our switches are quite large so polling multiple switches would exceed 5m). I'm trying to hack this patch to do the job and have updated the poller_interval in config_settings, config_array, etc but the issue I'm having is I get a devide by 0 on line 180 in poller.php on poller_inteval.

I suspect this is because this is a new install with the patch put directly on a new install, and then devices added afterwards. Any recommendations on the easiest way to go after the 15m polling inteval? Should I reinstall, add devices, then add the patch?
