no rrd files for remote machines

Post by jmkgreen »

Localhost works fine. Adding other machines via SNMP doesn't work.

Here's the cacti.log after running cmd.php with debugging:

06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Assoc: " SELECT * FROM host WHERE (disabled = '' AND id >= 2 AND id <= 2) ORDER by id"
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Assoc: " SELECT * from poller_item WHERE (host_id >= 2 AND host_id <= 2) ORDER by host_id"
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Cell: " SELECT count(*) FROM poller_item WHERE (action=2 AND (host_id >= 2 AND host_id <= 2))"
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Cell: "select count(*) from poller_item"
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: SERVER: cmd
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: GETCWD: /var/www/cacti-0.8.6j
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: DIRNAM: /var/www/cacti-0.8.6j
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] DEBUG: FILENM: /var/www/cacti-0.8.6j/script_server.php
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] PHP Script Server has Started - Parent is cmd
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] PHP Script Server Started Properly
06/15/2007 06:10:56 PM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] ERROR: Input Expected, Script Server Terminating

FWIW the device is listed with all discovered interfaces fine.

Any ideas?

Nobody has any ideas at all?

The debugging documentation that Gandalf regularly asks people to use does not contain any fixes for this apparently.

Perhaps I should be filing a bug?

OK I got frustrated with this.

I deleted the cacti installation and installed the -i release instead. Apache has password protection on the web site to it's an acceptable risk.

And what do you know... It works fine.

So something in the -j release is broken. I might try a patched installation next and report back. But a fresh -j install doesn't work on remote SNMP hosts.

Your j version was not fully patched? Please always make sure to apply all published patches. The are NOT integrated into tar.gz nor into cacti rpms

I was browsing the site while awaiting another test and found a page listing patches including one for PHPv4 users. This fixed it.

Perhaps this should be mentioned on the main download page!
