Windows Client SNMP error

Post by arjanv »

Hello,

In installed Cacti on my Centos Server and it's working fine. I wan't to monitor my windows 2003 enterprise server. I installed the SNMP Service and in the agent tab i checked all options, created a community and created a host in cacti. No problems so far. When I create the graph ucd/net CPU Usage I see the following errors in the cacti log:

06/12/2007 11:45:07 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[4] DS[36] SNMP: v1: IP ADDRESS, dsname: cpu_user, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.50.0, output: U
06/12/2007 11:45:07 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[4] DS[36] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result:
06/12/2007 11:45:07 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[4] DS[35] SNMP: v1: IP ADDRESS, dsname: cpu_system, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.52.0, output: U

06/12/2007 11:45:07 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[4] DS[34] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result:

Does anyone have a idea how to fix this?

What happens if you do this by hand:

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 1 -c <communitystring> <hostname>
Do you see any snmp data returned?

A lot of data is returned. But now I have to search for the correct OID. How can I perform a search to the correct values?

ucd/net CPU Usage is for linux systems and don't work on Windows. Try the snmp processor template instead.

hmm, allright that make sense why it's nog working.
Now I created a Host MIB - CPU Utilization graph. But nothing happened. The poller is not polling for this graph and the graph will not show up in the tree. It's not created.

What can I do to debug?

1) look in the cacti log file to see if there are any errors
2) you must add the host to the graph tree. you can still manually view each graph in graph management.
