poller

Post by atrussokc »

I am using cmd.php as the poller. I currently have a cron job that runs it every 5 minutes. Is this the proper way to do this? In the setting page, it appears that there is some process that will do this for me. Is it possible that I have two instances of the poller running? I have tried changing over to cactid but when I do this and remove my cron job, my data is no longer updated and my graphs start to show blank spots.

Please advice.

What version of Cacti?

In later versions of Cacti, you run poller.php from cron and select which collection agent (cmd.php or Cactid) your system will use. Cactid has to be compiled on your system and you do need to specify the path to it.
