3Com 5500 Traffic Interface

Post by XaNO »

Hi There

I have a 3Com 5500 Switch. If i add this Device to Cacti unter Devices, the loadingdialog from IE occures, but the loading process will not quitting. After this, I can see the device in the list.
In the properties of the device i can click on the "Create Graphs for this Host"-Link. After that, there are all interfaces from this switch. Now i can create Graphs and Data Sources and for the first view it looks good. But the rrd-File and Graph will not create.
Under the created Datasource i can read below "Custom Data:"

Custom Data
Index Type -> Data query data sources must be created through New Graphs.
Index Value -> Blank Field
Output Type ID -> Data query data sources must be created through New Graphs.

Now im totaly confused.

Can you help me?

Kind Regards

Fabian

Hello,
What do you have when you look your graphes?
Do you have something or just the scales? Because before having a graphe you should wait one hour, the first measures aren't easy to see.

Hi
Thanks for the answer. There are no Graph (the Symbol with the Red-Cross from IE). These graphs can't create if there ist no rrd-File and there ist no rrd-File with informations for a Graph.
Kind Regards

when you click on the red cross, do you see the graphs? If so verify that you have specified the good version for rrdtool in the settings.

No, the Graphs can't create why there is no rrd-File.

All other things in Cacti (Custom Data Querys, Data Input from Cisco Routers via SNMP, Data Input from SAN via SNMP) works correctly and with no trouble.

HUm i think we will need a pro. Because I really don't see. Do you have modify a template?
If it is the case, you will have to delete and to recreate your device.
When you modify a device template, you have to recreate your device with the new depvice template.

I did the two ways you metion to try to detect what is the problem.

1.-Delete and to recreate the device when i modify the template on porpus
and
2.-Recreate a device with a new device template

And cacti still dont plot any graph!!!!!

FINALLY!!!

Post by cronoteo »

Hi there:

I finally make cacti to plot images. Here is what i did:

1.- I upgrade patches from:

http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... tched/lib/
Just download the files there to your cacti dir tree running in "lib" .

2.- I reinstall rrdtools and modify the path on cacti:
Configuration-->Settings-->Paths--->

On RRDTool Binary Path
I enter:"/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.23/bin/rrdtool"
the default instalation path for balltar on rrdtool

and on
RRDTool Default Font Path
I enter:"/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.23/share/rrdtool/fonts/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf"

I just wait to the cron demon to do the poller.php and i got emty graphs after various ronds of the pooler i got data on my graphs..

Hopes it helps...
