I do not know why it times out. I believe you are in the right path, I have seen other script import behave the same way in the other thread and was fixed by temporarily increasing the timeout in the php.ini to higher value.

I just tried increasing it to 5 minutes and then to 10 minutes and finally it worked, and it took pretty much that long. Maybe its my version of php (5.2.0). I'm not a php guy, but someone else in the office said the XML parsing in php is not particulary efficient.

The template was exported from 0.8.6j. You will need to upgrade Cacti to 0.8.6j to import it.

Argh...I'm on cacti 0.8.6.i and can't update to 0.8.6.j. Is there an other way to import these template (manually?)? Or maybe an other version for the .i ?

I'm looking forward to getting some link-latency maps going, and trap collection from this stuff too. Who would have thought - Cisco do something cool. I'm sure it'll melt my routers, or make me sterile or something...

Actually, I'm using the Jitter/Error graph template. I have a question about values of RTT MAX/MIN/AVE. I've got a value of the RTT Average smaller than the RTT MIN!!! Since the last 12h, I've got a minimum average of 22 and an "average average" of 17!!

Anyone has an explanation?

I have to agree, its one of those not-widely-used cool feature on Cisco IOS. Let me know how addition to Weathermap works out.

From the sample graph, seems like you have modified the template to suite your needs. I think some of the values might have been switched, meaning your ave might be mapped to min. Try verifying the graph template to see if that is the case.

I was really interested to see the info on adding the MIBs which I didn't realise was possible. So I followed the instructions.

Now, when I run a command-line snmpbulkwalk the CISCO-RTTMON mib properly resolves:

Did you need to take an additional step to get this working in Cacti? I'm running 0.8.6j on Gentoo with no plugins.

I checked by editing the item "(rtt): RTT Ave" in my graph template. The associated data source is "Cisco Router - SAA - (rtt)" which must be the good one.

Are you using cactid instead of cmd? I am wondering if that would make difference as I've only used cmd, when when I created the templates. Since changing my job role, I do not have access to a cacti system, so I am shooting from my hips :>

Have you verified the result you get from the cacti to actual value by either running snmpwalk from command line or running show ip sla command from the ios equipment? Also, have you tried reimporting the script and the template and see if original template works? I would try above steps to find out whether equipment is returning wrong value or the template is showing the wrong value.

I've got this working in my environment - thanks for such a well thought out template!

I do however have one question. I created some graphs prior to using the 'tag' in Cisco to label the IP SLA configuration. My graphs are named, for example, as "<host> SAA Basic - 1" or "<host> SAA Jitter - 1". I'd like these to now reflect my tags (such as ICMP and VoIP) rather than the default index (1,2,3,4,etc). Does anyone know how I can rename my existing graphs? I tried renaming it under Data Sources -> "<host> SAA Basic - 1" but the graphs don't get updated. Anyone got any ideas here?
