Well, this is the second time this issue has been brought up and in the same month.

The sum functions are very simple. They only do the currently (current) or all data sources (total) on the graph. You can not sum only the "traffic_in" or the "traffic_out". This feature does not exist.

This is definatly a feature request.

Hi Rony,

thats a great explanation for the issue i have been reading about in the last few posts.
this explains why the function i want to get going on my graphs won't work (i wanted to total "Current" and "Max" Bandwidth from multipul routers WAN interfaces at that point in time seperatly for the inbound and the outbound and then graph it. but from what you are saying above it seems that cacti can only totale that current data source or ALL of the data sources on the graph.)

is there a chance that a feature that would allow us to add the individual interfaces up and graph them on the same graph be avaliable soon or in one of the next releases?
whould it be hard to implament?

thanks for your help.

To be honest, this is a low priority feature for me. Someone will have to motivate me to bring up on the priority list, or submit a good patch for it. :)

I'm pretty busy during the summer and already have a lot of things that I have to do for Cacti.

Hi Tony,

thank you for your reply.

sigh... if only i could code and help out by supplying a patch for this great program you developers have delivered for us.
trust me if i could code or help with some scripting i would be posting it here for the community to use.

how would one motivate you to put this up on your list :D

i am not sure how hard it would be to get a patch out for this feature, but it seems like it should be easy (hehe, sorry i am only guessing its quite easy, forgive me if i am wrong).

It would be a great addition to co-inside with Reinhard's aggregation script.

anyways i will be hoping (along with others) it will be a feature that could make as an add-on or in make it into the next few releases.
i do appreciate how busy you are over the summer, and thank you for working so hard on the project.
