Do you mean that the default device creation comes in a subfolder?

Root tree
+Device folder1
-----device name1
+Device folder2
-----device name2

I have the same problem, I want them to to be simply created like in older versions:

My cacti is 1.2.10, Just imported the the files above, everything works fine.
The only thing is that I had problem is that when importing the template I did not UNCHECK the Preview Import Only checkbox, so it did not get imported.
