manually changing the poller from 5 to 1 and editing the cron job 5 to 1 seems to of resolved it

create graphs for this host, Select a graph type: (change )

any way to have it default to:
in/out bits 64bit counter

rather than the standard 32bit counter? (90% of the hosts we add are gigabit)

poller interval, dummies guide?

running cacti 0.8.7b via debian/package we have an existing 0.8.6 install that is happy, but we need "better" resolution that 5 miniute averages so i've got a test 0.8.7b system setup is there a dummies guide on how to get resolution of 10 secs? i've fiddled about in the configuration->set...

and thanks for a great plugin, (we primarily setting up your pluggin to hunt down the next time someone comes along a plugs a dhcp server onto our network and this will help us track down the mac and so we can shut down the switch port.

device type field length

is it limited to 21 chars? we have a 3com switch its system description is 3Com 3Com Switch 5500G-EI SFP 24-Port Software Version 3Com OS V3.01.00s168 when putting in anything over 21 chars it refuses to save i have had to use 3Com 3Com Switch 550% not a big problem for me but the limit doesn't real...

our software developers have multiple processes running with the same name, can this script handle multiple processes with the same name?

The devs claim its not thier code causing the cpu to go 100% on a night and i'd like to setup this wonderful script to prove otherwise.

cheers rrdtool tune <rrd file> --maximum <ds-name>:<new ds maximum> fixed it. the missing entries must of been >100 i had increased the webinterface to 500 but had to use the above line to force to 500. i now have graphing again, it was the entries above 100 that were missing. so i now know that the...

Cacti users sometimes complain about NaN's in their graphs

what does NaN stand for i cant find in the link, maybe its worth having it?
