I've been looking for a similar solution, and would love to use my existing Cacti installs rather than additional software... Is there an add-on, plugin or something that would allow for monitoring availability of devices over a sliding time window? For example, being able to report that "Serve...

BSOD - thank you for your quick reply! I turned on debug logging and skimmed through it, but I don't really know what to make of it. I see the poller claiming to exit/end, but the log continues under the same process. I'm attaching the log from one iteration of the poller command. As always, any ass...

Update:
Forgot to mention that a single process - php.exe - is the culprit. Any idea why that would be hanging/looping/whatever?

Strange problem... neverending poller?

I just did a fresh install of Cacti 0.8.7 and noticed the following... When I run "php poller.php" from the cli, sometimes the poller spits out one result and finishes - which is the behavior to which I'm accustomed. However, more often than not, the poller will run over and over again - s...

This will be sweet when it's complete... The issue we're having is that e-mail alerts don't work if the Exchange server or MPLS/internet lines go down, so we want to have thold run a script to send SMS alerts via a mobile connected to the server ^_^

64-bit

I'm guessing that I'll have to purchase the full version of SNMP-informant to monitor my 64-bit Storage Server systems, or is there a workaround?

Did you tick the checkbox next to each data source when you modified the data query? I know I missed that one the first time.

Fixed it! Yay! It wasn't elegant, but I simply erased the installation and started from scratch with a new DB. It works now :)

Thanks for the quick reply, BSOD.

Indeed the plain vanilla install works fine. I have a regular test install and a modded production install running already.

I neglected to mention in my OP that yesterday I tried the plane-jane deal and it was smooth.

Update:

The wacky manual poll behavior (DS:0 RRD:0) occurs if the poller is set to 1 minute, regardless of whether or not there are any devices utilizing the 1 minute templates.

The first poll after it is set to 1 minute yields normal results, the second poll yields 0/0.

Fast Poller Issues

Perhaps I'm just being dumb, but I believe that I've executed the instructions correctly and am still unable to get this working. I am going to try to give a lot of detail in this post, so it may run long. Additionally, I was working on this all day yesterday () and looked for any possible info...

rrdtool batch dump command for windows

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere before, but I couldn't successfully search for it. So, I'm going to post what worked for me in the hopes that it may assist another user somewhere down the line. I copied my rrdtool.exe into the cacti\rra\ directory to make it simpler. At the command prompt, in di...
