Upgrade from FC4 to FC6

I'm really interested in upgrading my Cacti box from FC4 to FC6.

Are there any issues with Cacti in doing this?
Has anyone done this?

thanks in advance!

Most of the time event log just says "SNMP service shut down". I have searched quite a bit on this issue, and finally came here thinking someone may have seen this before. What is strange is that it happens on boxes that are used for many different purposes.

I'm going to try SP2.

Whats wrong with SNMP service?

I run Cacti Version 0.8.6i (patched to j) on FC4, not Windows. It works great. My question is about the SNMP service on 2K3 server. I monitor several 2K3 server boxes with Cacti, via the SNMP service. The service usually runs fine, however in the last few months, and more so recently, the service ch...

3324 issues

I was able to get a 3324 to work for a few months. Then one day a few weeks ago it just stopped displaying any graph data. I would run the verbose query and it responded, and it always shows 100% uptime... Right now I'm rebuilding the graphs, etc; For some reason these Dell switches (which run on a ...

Nagios vs. Cacti

Ok, I 've been hearing a lot about Nagios lately.
  • Can anyone tell me what the major differences are between Cacti and Nagios?
Is there a benefit to running both or is it redundant?

Can't add an input field

I would like to try your script, but when I get to the point of adding an input field I get an error about:

"Error: This script appears to have no input values, therefore there is nothing to add."

I was able to add the output fields no problem.

What am I missing?

This was already asked loads of time, and, even it was answered ... Pleae visit the Data Query, select the Graph Template and upper the wanted title in the "Suggested Names" Section. It's a "first match all variables" algorithm Reinhard Forgive me for my ignorance. This is what ...

Editing data source name

Cacti 0.8.6i on FC4. I have a Dell 24 port switch I monitor in Cacti. I setup the switch so that each port is labeled by what server it's connected to. This shows up like this when I do a verbose query: + Found item [ifAlias='Proxy'] index: 1 [from value] When I create graphs for the device, and loo...

How to query for Citrix sessions/users

I need to monitor Citrix sessions/users on our servers, and I've read several of the posts here regarding Citrix sessions/users.

Questions:
Do I need to create a new data query for this?
Do I just edit the interface.xml and add a new section for the Citrix OID?

Thanks!

Graphs disappear after yum update

Maybe I missed some warning somewhere in the documentation, but my cacti 0.8.6h server that has been running fine for the last month has "lost" all it's graphs since I ran "yum update". Yum updated several packages in FC4, I rebooted, now all my graphs are gone and all devices sh...

"Recovering"

I have a SuSE Oracle server that cacti accesses via a vpn WAN connection. The status of this device often shows "Recovering" and the graphs look like a piano keyboard; in other words, white spaces in between the colored graphed data... Its on and off. All the other devices that cacti acces...
