Thank you, I wasn't aware you needed to tune them if they already existed. This has solved the issues so far, though I'm not sure why the defaults didn't suffice for me.

I've increased the max limit on the datasource by double (now 200000000, it's a 100mbit interface), and also cut it over to 64bit counters. Neither appears to have helped. Anything else I should attempt? Is there something in the logs that should tip off? http://files.radicand.org/izu2fail.png Thanks,

[SOLVED] Graph dropping outbound data

Hi all, I've been using cacti for some time now, and pretty familiar with it by now. However, I'm hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm running into with a few hosts. What happens is that sometimes (more often than not during periods of high outbound traffic), the graph loses outbound traf...

To any other poor souls with this issue: Verify that your crontab entry for the poller is running in a user that can write to the rra directory. I was banging my head with these symptoms until I realized that I had the cron setup for 'cactiuser' when 'apache' had access to the directory exclusively....

[HOWTO] Graphing Upstream Bandwidth by System User

Preface: Linux only Limitations: needs iptables with 'owner' match support, needs a "clean" OUTPUT chain (though with small modifications this is not a limitation) I have a few servers that basically lease out upstream bandwidth to a number of clients, and up until a few days ago, I could ...

Upgrading the RRDTool version seems to have fixed the problem entirely. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'll update RRDTool and see if that helps. Flat Graph /usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \ --imgformat=PNG \ --start=-86400 \ --end=-300 \ --title="Miharu - Bit Traffic - eth0" \ --rigid \ --base=1000 \ --height=120 \ --width=500 \ --alt-autoscale-max \ --lower-limit=0 \ --vertical-label="bits ...

They are both the same graph. I screenshotted the first, waited 5 minutes, and then screenshotted it again when it returned to normal. Same 12h period for both.

Ugly Graphs: Leveled one moment, spikey the next [resolved]

I've got a really strange issue that keeps happening- sometimes one of my graphs will have flat peaks, and then in the next 5 minute interval, it will have spikey peaks (desired). I'm using 0.8.6h and RRDTool 1.2.6. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated regarding how to eliminate the flat gra...

Thanks for the tip- I deleted the graphs but kept their data intact (I didn't bother with backing it up on the filesystem, I just used the options in Cacti). Then I recreated the graphs as 95%, and the red line shows up properly. Excellent. Thanks again for making this tool, it's great.

I also have this issue with two of my graphs. Coincidentally, these were graphs created initially without the 95% percential option, and then switched over mid-way through. Did you do this as well? For my graphs that I started as "95% percentile", those work fine. I don't want to flush all...
