Hello; I am in the same boat, but only with a php script. The cmd.php will poll datasources when the host is set to none, but cactid skips them. I also tried creating a dud host and running cactid. Fixed it, sort of by using the sledhammer method. Nuked the database and cacti directory and started from scratch. Second times a charm. Works great now. When I have it done I will export the xml files and post them.
