Awsome guide, was very helpful on my fresh install of CactiEZ. One thing you might want to add, is to do a yum install gcc before trying to compile and install spine, as CactiEZ doesn't have gcc installed by default so the compile errors when you try and run it if you don't install gcc.

Problem solved, I wasn't running in SNMPv2c mode, as soon as I switched it over everything started working. Thanks for your help on what turned out to be a oops on my part.

Thanks

Ok thanks for clearning up that confusion. How do I run these scripts in debug mode? I will look into this issue when I get to work in the morning as I don't have access to this box at home right now.

Actually, I was wanting the perl script results for when it polled the service. I'm sorry, I'm new to Cacti, I have been doing some research and it looks like I have to install something other than SNMP on my boxes, some people are using the Nagios agent from the looks of it and others are using a ...

This is a fresh install. I have tried clearing the cache already. Here is the output I get from the scripts in debug mode. /usr/bin/rrdtool create \ /var/www/html/rra/exchange_server_service_state_33.rrd \ --step 300 \ DS:service_state:GAUGE:600:0:U \ RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 \ RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:700 \ ...

I am going to install that script also, but I want to monitor services not processes, I want to be able to detect the state of a windows service.

Monitoring windows services

I just started using Cacti, and am using the cactiEZ cd found here http://cactiusers.org/ and have set it up to monitor a few windows 2003 servers using windows SNMP. Graphing Watchguard X1000 FireWarePro

I want to graph the interfaces on my Watchguard X1000 firewall. I have put in the IP address of my cacti server and also set the SNMP community name in the watchguard policy. However when I try and add the watchguard to my devices I just get "SNMP ERROR" in red at the top of the page. I ha...
