Guess what ... sometimes it's _good_ to hear that our work is not a complete waste of time ... Cacti is a spectacular product. It is not a waste of time. Thank you very much for all of your hard work and continued maintenance of Cacti, Weathermap and all those other tools and the tutorials and docu...

I am also getting this error during the patching. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 with Cacti 0.8.7b (From the default repositories). Since this is the default Cacti supplied with Ubuntu 8.04, I I suspect this problem affects all Ubuntu 8.04 users. How can I provide more information to get this resolved? Wo...

Re: CatOS
I think the funktion with Cisco IOS is OK. But CatOS devices (Cisco 2980, Cisco 4000, Cisco 6000 Hybrid mode,...) are not be able to mactrack. xandlsoft, I've read that it is very difficult for utilities to automatically determine the ports on a CatOS device. CatOS stores this information in a stra...

Tried a different download source as well I agree that the file mactrack-1.1\docs\mactrack_documentation.doc is corrupt. I cannot read this file using Windows WordPad or StarOffice (On Windows XP). Re: Cisco CatOS: Port Name (ifAlias) in Cacti?
Has anyone come up with a way to automatically find the Port's name with SNMP or Cacti? Answering my own question. From what I've read in these forums, it is very difficult to automatically determine the Port's name, because CatOS stores this information in a strange way. Since CatOS is falling out...

Cisco CatOS: Port Name (ifAlias) in Cacti?
Has anyone created a Cacti template that can pull the ifAlias field into Cacti (using the module and port numbers)? I thought I would check in on this. Has anyone come up with a way to automatically find the Port's name with SNMP or Cacti? Within CatOS, I set the name using 'set port name <mod/port...

Request: Memory usage of a process (Linux)
I have some Linux (CentOS 4.4) servers. I want to monitor the memory usage of 5 processes on these servers. These are JVM processes, and typically run for several weeks, and I want to monitor their memory usage over time. I am hoping to re-use a data input method, and somedata and graph templates cr...

Re: Have you tried doing an snmpwalk by hand?
Have you tried snmpwalk -c public -v1 ip-address-of-firewall-here Yes--- that is how I discovered that the SNMP requests were failing. My big gripe is that Cacti failed to create the data files (or the graphs), and it never told me why. I wish I there was a better error in the logs. Judging by the ...

I have a similar problem in another thread . The poller would update some RRD files but not others. For me, if the poller worked for one hosts it would update the RRD file. If it failed for the host, it would not update the RRD file. I even created some new devices-- the SNMP queries failed, which m...

(Thanks for your help!) Arg. This is driving me crazy. There are no sql errors in the logfiles. It seems like the Cacti user is not creating new RRD files either. What really bugs me is that the debug logs contain no output which look like 'rrdtool create' anywhere. I try to create a new device call...
