As a follow up, I restored the /usr/share/cacti structure to the condition before the patches were applied. I had a previously running cacti server. Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS. I installed cacti via apt-get. Built graphs, trees, it has ran great for several months. I was trying to add PIA..
