[Fri Jan 06 16:09:43 2006] [notice] child pid 53748 exit sig

I was going to ask for help on this but I figured it out before I even typed anything. If you get [Fri Jan 06 16:09:43 2006] [notice] child pid 53748 exit signal Illegal instruction (4) it's because you're being a dumbass and forgot to put your db settings into include/config.php... since they aren'...

kiw0r: The poller does work just fine, out of ports or not. The directions are broken, not the poller. The readme (even from ports) states 7. Add a line to your /etc/crontab file similar to: */5 * * * * cactiuser php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1 1. you can't specify a user in ...

You're running snmpd out of ports, and not bsnmpd that ships w/ 5.4, right? I had to add bsnmpd_enable="NO" # Run the SNMP daemon (or NO). bsnmpd_flags="" # Flags for bsnmpd. snmpd_enable="YES" to my rc.conf. Seems obvious but I missed it at first.

OK, so I just tried branch_0_8_6, and what do you know, it worked :)

I did have to delete all previously existing graphs first :/
but oh well.

oh, and 95th percentile doesn't seem to work, but I suppose I can wait until the next release for that.

Actually it was the trunk that I tried, because that's what the readme said I should do. I'll try the branch_0_8_6 this weekend.

re: mysql5 unsupported

I had a machine running many mysql4 apps, cacti being one of them. For reasons not worth explaining, I had to move to mysql5 and I can't get cacti to work with it even when running sql_mode MYSQL40. I tried svn-current on the 7th, which didn't work at all. Is the mysql5 capable version looking like ...
