Turns out I am a complete disaster. After checking all graph templates thoroughly I noticed that the graphs not showing even the thumbnail were using the SVG image format. After changing it to PNG everything worked perfectly. I don't know why it was en svg, but png works like charm.

Turns out one type of graph was not showing just the thumbnail due to the comment bug. But I still have the problem with the interface traffic graphs. The poller polls data correctly, since when I download the .csv it contains data. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

I did chmod 777 -R for the whole cacti directory. That did the partial fix.

I have checked that the rrdtool is version 1.4.3 and I have checked 1.4.x in cacti settings. Still no graphs shown. Looks like my uselessness prevented me from correcting permissions for the rra folder. I have set the correct permissions and some of the graphs have been fixed, but some others don't ...
