Re: UPS Monitoring Plugin for Cacti Released
Okay, that was funny. Like any other plugin "except". I think we've both been doing this too long. Silly GOTCHAs! I imported the package, all was successful, but I still do not see any devices being created. I'm not sure if that is expected because I flubbed the install, or whatnot. Anywa...

Re: UPS Monitoring Plugin for Cacti Released
Jeeves, I've been taking a break from Cacti and just saw this. Did you import the device package and enable the auto-creation of the devices? Also, for this problematic UPS, can you post the content of the command apcaccess on the host monitoring the UPS? Larry Good Afternoon Larry, I totally misse...

Re: UPS Monitoring Plugin for Cacti Released
Quick follow-up; I see my UPS', the older units seem to have all the data, but the newer ones are missing data, however it doesn't appear in APCUPSD, so that's not on the plugin. However; It looks like the plugin was supposed to create devices and graph the data? Maybe? However, none of these UPS' h...

Re: UPS Monitoring Plugin for Cacti Released
This looks fantastic. I'm not familiar with APCUPSD (most of my experience is with NUT) and not all of my hardware is APC. Looking at the code superficially; Do you think it's viable to do a NUT-based adaptation? I wouldn't expect this from you, however having laid the foundation I see a bunch of it...

Have you got this error in your mysql error log? 2023-11-07 9:12:00 469892 [Warning] Aborted connection 469892 to db: 'cacti' user: 'cactiuser' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-11-07 9:14:00 470362 [Warning] Aborted connection 470362 to db: 'cacti' user: 'cactiuse...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
Talking to macan about this one. I did a spine update this morning, to at least acknowledge device 0, which is a special class of device that I had removed support for years ago, and re-introduced at the request of Ian Berry, the Cacti founder. So, though it's still supported, it will not be counte...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
I suspect you need to do this ALTER TABLE poller_output_boost ADD COLUMN last_updated TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, ADD INDEX last updated(last_updated); It's been a busy week, so I haven't had time to stick my head in and test some of these out, but I appreciate ...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
While running the bash script, it seems to constantly throw an "Unknown Column" error on b.last_updated; I recorded a gif, but once a minute I get a single refresh that has some poller data in it, so it's a lot of nothingness. My values all seem pretty trivial: cacti-2023-11-debugscript.pn...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
Advanced Ping has a lot of scalability issues when you have so many hosts. The other thing is how long it takes spine to initialize with so many threads. What is your script server count? How many script server calls do you use? I had mine set at 5, and it hasn't really changed. One option would to...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
any network issues? Restart server? OS/package update? I met similar thing after PHP upgrade. No network issues. This is a large infrastructure and I've used Cacti for more than a decade. If you can tell me how to troubleshoot the error more, I'm happy to do so. At the moment all I see is that it s...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
Try to use cmd poller for few poller cycles (configuration->settings-> poller)->poller_type Same issue: cacti-cmd-test.png Which cacti and spine versions? 1.2.25 across the board. You can try: chmod +s /path/to/spine This is done as part of the process of building spine. Utilities-> system utilitie...

Re: 2 Devices: "Polling timed out while waiting for 4 Threads to End" - Little Help on Poller Statistics?
Try to increase log level (Configuration->settings->general tab) and check out cacti log Good idea; Here's what I got out of that: A couple of devices fill the log. The warnings are the precursor to the red "Timed Out" message. However, One of the devices is an "ICMP Ping Only" ...

I also tried to go the other direction and ridiculously cranked the processes/threads, No change:
