Re: [HOWTO] Use a remote script via SSH as Data Input, no SN
Thank you white-jeroen! Yes, that was my first suspicion, but it did not help. In the end I found the solution but I still don't understand why this solution solves the problem. The solution I found was to generate the SSH key on machine A both for user a and for user root, then add both these keys ...

Re: [HOWTO] Use a remote script via SSH as Data Input, no SN
Running scripts on remote hosts via SSH is very convenient and I've been doing it a lot in the past weeks since I've found out about it. However recently I've bumped into a very strange problem. Using the method described in this thread I can easily set up a passwordless SSH connection between machi...

Re: [HOWTO] Use a remote script via SSH as Data Input, no SN
I am deeply thankful for your help!
I found out this way that cacti runs its cron job under the user www-data. I adapted the steps of your tutorial accordingly and it works like a charm! I'm very happy Thank you!

Re: [HOWTO] Use a remote script via SSH as Data Input, no SN
Thank you for this great tutorial! It's just what I was looking for
This might sound like a very amateur question, but how can I determine what user Cacti uses on the Cacti host to run the Cron job? In the tutorial you assume it's the user "cacti", but I have no such user.
Thanks!

Re: Weatherbug XML API script and templates
Well, I'm afraid I'm not a Cacti expert on that level, but it makes sense to have the bad (imperial) values in the past, since they were collected with the wrong script. Cacti always collects values in the present, what it shows in the past was already collected with those values, so there's not way...

Re: Weatherbug XML API script and templates
Adding "&unittype=1" to the end of the URL in the existing script does not work, I'm afraid. You need to use my script (attached in my previous post), which uses a different URL and adifferent XML parsing. The basic idea is that I had to hack the php script for it to work with metric u...

Re: Weatherbug XML API script and templates
Hello!
I've updated the PHP script to work with metric units. I'm not a PHP programmer, so it might be a bit ugly, but it works. To change back to imperial units, just remove the end of the URL: . "&unittype=1".
