Service (port) Monitoring
The debug output is non-existant other than a red X so I've attached it instead. The graph syntax is: 09/16/2005 04:16:50 PM - WEBLOG: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: d:\apache\apache2\htdocs\cacti\rrdtool.exe graph - --imgformat=PNG --start=-86400 --end=-300 --title="365 Main AT&T Router TEST - Advan...

Advanced Ping rrd returns a "0"
Any devices/graphs I create using Advanced Ping will create RRDs and appear to be working great but the graphs will not show up properly in Cacti (just a red X). When I run http://host/graph_image.php?local_graph_id=368 instead of a graph I get a single 0 on the screen. I can run that same command w...

How to implement fping
I implemented ss_fping from the 1.2 version posted. I remember now why I stopped using it. It polls correctly (even with the new version and parameters) but something about the graphs doesn't work because cacti will not display them. Instead I get those awesome red X's as if it can't find the image/...

Service (port) Monitoring
Rather than only checking for up/down status using either snmp, ping or both, how about also checking specific tcp/udp ports either instead or in addition? Maybe even send a string and expect a response?

monitor - nothing goes down
i have the monitor and thold plugins running on 0.8.6f nicely except for 1 thing - nothing ever shows as down. cacti's log shows the host no longer responding to SNMP and says it's down: 09/02/2005 11:54:17 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[47] SNMP: Host did not respond to SNMP 09/02/2005 11:54:17 AM - C...

Cactid on Win2k
I'm unable to run cactid on win2k because of the "Waiting on 1/1 pollers." issue described in this thread. I was looking for a shorter polling time (I was polling almost constantly because it took about 4:30 mins to complete a poll). I increased the threads from 1 to 10 (duh) and that got ...

Re: RRDs created but unable to display
I've been through the installation process for advanced ping 3 times now since clearing up the versioning problem when importing the graph template and the results are always the same: Everything appears to go very smoothly including the creation of the RRDs (named *dev_###.rrd). I add the graphs t...

Re: thold: Deleting or Removing Thresholds
I've installed thold 2.1b on win2k succesfully and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I need to be able to do is to delete the auto-generated thresholds for certain things I don't want - or all thresholds for a particular device in the case of my test servers. I find no way to remove them once ...
