Custom SNMP Data Query Query
Hi, So I have been mucking with this for a couple days now and am stumped. Here is some basic info on our Cacti install: Version: 0.8.7i OS: CentOS 5.8 What I am trying to do is create a custom SNMP Data Query to return interface statistics on a device called a BTI 7000 Ethernet Switch. I have follo...

Re: Can't specify SNMP V3 Engine ID?
So, a follow up question on how to possibly get this going is on the Data Input Method and an Input Field called "SNMP Engine ID". I am attaching two screenshots to hopefully better illustrate where I am stuck. Basically I need a field where I can define an SNMP V3 Engine ID per host. Howe...

Can't specify SNMP V3 Engine ID?
Hi, We love Cacti! I just want to be sure I am not missing something obvious here on our Cacti 0.8.7g install running on RHEL 5. While we can successfully poll SNMP V3 devices fine what we can't do out of the box is specify the SNMP V3 Engine ID. Most of our network gear doesn't require this but the...

Cacti Time Resolution in Graphs
Hi, We are wondering about how Cacti display INCOMING and OUTGOING Traffic in the daily 5 minute AVG graphs versus how it displays data for the same things when you "zoom in" with the magnifying glass. Attaching two images to this post. One is the daily graph and one is the same graph but ...

Re: No ifHCInUcastPkts in drop down menu
What about this for an idea? Can I take the interface.xml file on the working Cacti installation (Version 0.8.7g) and import it into the newer version of Cacti (Version 0.8.7i) via: Import/Export-> Import Templates? What I did before was just edit the interface.xml file directly on the new install. ...

Re: No ifHCInUcastPkts in drop down menu
Hi Gandalf, Even after I add them to interface.xml I don't see them in the drop down menu where you "Create Graphs" for a Device. So I would say pick "Cisco 2821 Router", then select a Gig-E interface that does respond to a snmpwalk that returns 64 bit counters for various packet...

No ifHCInUcastPkts in drop down menu
Hi, I am rather puzzled in that we have one Cacti install that has: ifHCInUcastPkts ifHCOutUcastPkts ifHCOutMulticastPkts etc (basically it has all kinds of 64 bit counters for Packet type) Our other Cacti install that we are just spinning up only has 64 bit counters for traffic (bits/sec, etc). My ...

Re: Non standard switches and MacTrack
Hmmm... I think I need to write a new add a new "MAC Address Scanning Function". SNMP Options in the MAC Track GUI is not what I want.
Anyone have any tips on writing a new MAC Address Scanning Function? Do I need to find the OID for "sh mac addresses"?

Non standard switches and MacTrack
Hi again, So we got our test case working on our Cisco 2960 Catalyst Switch...now comes the heavy lifting. How do we get MacTrack going on switches that don't have a predefined template? MacTrack/Cacti can currently poll these Tellabs 7345 Ethernet Aggregation switches and collect interfaces, bandwi...

Re: MACs in debug output on command line- not in GUI?!
Well, It looks like after a few runs the Mac Addresses are now showing in the GUI. Weird. Maybe I just need to refresh my browser and/or exit and get back in. They are in there now.... I am going to post another message on how we can now somehow, someway watch these other switches which are a scourg...

MACs in debug output on command line- not in GUI?!
Hi, We are running Cacti Version 0.8.7i With MacTrack Version 2.9.1 with PIA 3.1 ontop of a CentOS 5.6, with PHP 5.3.3 Other plugins like Weathermap, SuperLinks, etc work a-ok. MacTrack installed a-ok and basic functionality works. However, MAC addresses that appear when I run this: [root@sflow mact...

Re: 0.8.7i version of Spine not compiling under CentOS
Update-- I uninstalled the 5.5 versions of the MySQL RPMs and installed the 5.0 RPMs using YUM. Now I can get Spine to compile and it installed fine. Now what I am dealing with is that Spine is not running it seems. I have updated the poller in Cacti along with the binary path and it is not being sp...

0.8.7i version of Spine not compiling under CentOS
Hi all, I downloaded the latest source for version 0.8.7i of Spine. I have 0.8.7i version of Cacti installed that already came with the 3.1 PIA bundled in. Now I am trying to install Spine on this version of CentOS: [root@sflow cacti-spine-0.8.7i]# cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 5.6 (Final) ...
