Re: Automation and device naming
Apologies.. Ok, running through the code... what I want to change is not the hostname.. It's the description field (or what shows up in the tree for the host). I want the description to be the dnsname. Oddly enough now that I've run through it a little I remember making this same mistake.. years ago...

I've got several thousand cable modems in an old cacti system and want to change servers, start clean etc. I can't fo...

Background: Old Cacti installation on Ubuntu 16.04 using Ubuntu distributed package. Believe it was 0.8.8f before upgrade. Upgrade process was: Backup database and rrd's (just in case). comment out cron job Git clone current to /var/www/html, set permissions.. edit config.php to match original redir...

Re: Place Your Feature Requests & Bug Reports Here
Cacti 1.0.6 Upgraded Database from .0.8.x Ubuntu 16.04 Created a new device through Add in Devices Tab for "general devices", not mactrack devices. Create worked ok, but any subsequent changes to the device would generate the following errors. This was the same for all devices.. I.E. I cou...

Re: Cant create Thresholds Thold0.5 Cacit 0.8.8f
I was able to get around the error by changing the Threshold Type to "Time Based" and entering Values for everything, then changing it back to High/Low Values after it got created. Now.. they just don't work.. http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=56571 I came across the work ar...

Re: SNMP connection error
Don't know if you figured this out, but the device does not respond to any of the standard device info queries. It only responds to the items listed in the OID text file. Set it up as a icmp host, then create graphs for it using the OIDs and the "SNMP - Generic OID Template" as a base. roo...
