I too have made some attemps to change the default step in cacti, and have had mixed results. First, keep in mind the default php poller is not very fast. If you are monitoring alot of devices 1 minute will not be enough to poll them all. Second, you will need to change the default RRAs that match t...

0.8.1 disparity between graph preview and graph
I finally took the plunge into 0.8x last week and I have to say that cacti is a great looking well set up app. I did notice one thing today, however. My graph previews and actual graphs don't seem to agree. Check this out: http://www.johnmatney.com/preview.jpeg vs. the actual graph: http://www.johnm...

internal snmp polling on another port
I have a device that runs 2 snmp agents. One on the standard port and one on another port. Is it possible to coax the cacti internal snmp poller into grabbing OIDs from a nonstandard port?
Thanks In Advance.

RRDtool already does this. In the documentation its refered to as Data Resampling. Check out the rrdtutorial at http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webto ... orial.html for more info.
I'm not sure, according to your post, how this feature doesn't meet you needs.

Can you post the output of snmpet on these OIDs? I know with my wireless product, the signal and noise values are returned as strings, which cacti didn't really appreciate, so I had to write a script to regex out the values. I use Solectek Skyway wireless router, so its no doubt different, but its a...

Re: Stacking Data
Simple enough. You want the second item to be either an Area or a Line entry. This will put them on the same graph without adding them.

Problems getting SNMP OID info
Hi, I've been using cacti for a few months and really like it. Today I wanted to start monitoring some of singnal settings of my WWAN radios. I combed through the company's mib and found the relevant OIDs. My cacti machine is a Debian 3.0/testing system. The relevant OID is: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2890.1.1.31...
