Re: MacTrack Device_Types

I almost forgot it's use. Thus far it has been really helpful in identifying which port every machine on my network is connected to. Our switches have 300+ ports and have never really been "managed" so to speak so it's a great utility. Plus you can put alerts on to notify you when a rogue ...

Re: MacTrack Device_Types

The easiest way is to do an SNMP walk. In my case (4506's) I had to output the results into a text file as the ID is right at the beginning. snmpwalk -v1 -c community switchIP > outputfile Depending on the version of cacti and mactrack you may need to modify the database field to allow the really lo...

How can mactrack identify a virus?

I've read multiple sites with the plugin and the boasts of the plugin, one of them being that mactrack can be used basically to identify a virus. How was this originally meant or how can I do this rather can it do this?

Re: problem: no graphic

Make sure you turn off the host scanner for some reason it really slows everything down. Also just try a refresh as well as ensure your hardware is strong enough. Check out my other post in this section just a day ago and you'll see I was having potentially similar issues although the difference was...

Re: Weird, some broken images in graphs but not all

Thanks gandalf, as you may have noticed I've been a bit active. It's just because this is my firs foray into Cacti and I must admit even though I get frustrated I do love the results. The fix here was actually hardware. I was running the system on an old dell gx270 desktop pc Specs: 2.8ghz P4 1GB Ra...

Re: Cacti Stop Graphing

If I may; check your rra folder permissions and make sure the right permissions are in place. To be more effective you'll need to give a whole lot more information about your system like the OS etc. My system is CactiEZ and thus runs CentOS so my permissions are User=root Group=apache for the indivi...

Re: Weird, some broken images in graphs but not all

Why would only some of the polled interfaces still have broken images when there are no indicative errors?

Re: Weird, some broken images in graphs but not all

Alright, I ended up setting my cron and poller back to the original 1 minute settings and have started dividing out the workload by creating separate devices since our switches have 300+ ports. That seems to help although I still get the broken contain a refresh yields success for the most part. No ...

Weird, some broken images in graphs but not all

Alright this one is strange, for some reason on some of my graphs I have broken images but not all. What are the ideal chron/poller settings? Will boost help this?

Re: Is there any documentation?

Alright, the answer is no. There is no documentation anywhere so good luck, lol. I found the solution after working with my db admin/developer and it is specifically with the host name character match/length. Do an snmpwalk of the host and get the full device string (mine was gigantic). You then hav...

Re: Is there any documentation?

Alright so I checked logs, debugging, etc. I tried removing, re-adding, and then changing the OID. Now I have a status of ERROR but no error message indicated when I manually run the mactrack poller even verbose. How am I supposed to correct a problem if I don't get a specific error message? This is...

Re: Is there any documentation?

Alright so I know I'm not alone here judging by my search results from the forum and web but it appears that specific answers are not available. I tried some of the options like running cmd.php and I didn't have a single error so I switched my poller to cmd.php but still have the same results. I'll ...

Re: Is there any documentation?

There are no errors identified, it's also important to note that the device never shows up in my site when I add it.
