Re: rrdtool -graph using excessive memory

I just realized that for some graphs, 'rrdtool -graph' takes excessive amounts of memory (300MB). You may want to look at Script Data Queries. I've not yet done a HowTo for this. But you'll find help in cacti's online manual for that Reinhard Thanks. I gather this means that I'd have to install Net-SNMP on the cacti server (along with the MIBs) and the script would execute an snmpwalk or such t...

SNMP newbie: data query without index

I have so far used cacti only with the preloaded definitions and several script data input methods. I am now getting ready to monitor a new device for which I just got the MIBS and am running into some issues. First question: I have a set of OIDs which are returned non-indexed (the index is a type d...

one script, many values, different Graphs

I am trying to graph data from a system which reports a large number of variables in one go. So I set up a single input method to read all thoose values. I then set up a single Data Template to specify the type of values, their range etc. When I create a new Graph Template, I can the pick and choose...

Hmm. according to a script phpinfo() sessions are enabled.

problem is I don't admin the server. I only have access to the cacti dir
(mounted from another system) and my sysadmin has to do all the other
stuff. I will point him here to weigh in.

merci

drilling this sown even more, the problem seems to be with the
session_start()
line in config.php.

now, 086b worked on the same OS (FreeBSD before).

and there seem to be no errors in any logs regarding session_start

got a little further. by commenting out the 'auth.php' call in index.php it at least displays the header and fails when trying to first draw.. Hunting this down further it seems that config.php never gets 'executed'. If I delete everything 'before' the if ((isset($no_http_headers)... block and put a...

In the logs I get the 301 errors shown. In the browser I see absolutely nothing ! (NOt even a blank page, the previously shown page does not disappear). No error message/number.. I may have to do a packet capture to see what exactly is replied (my guess is the connection simply closes after a few by...
