Re: Help with Syslog plugin on CactiEZ
Did you ever find out the issue. Seems to be same problem I am having. I can see local server syslogs but not all the external ones being sent from cisco devices. Shut down IPtables but no still no incoming logs. I am also using the latest CatiEZ. Ideas?

Re: CaMM (Cacti Message Management) plugin v1.6.7 2010-08-26
All logs now flowing in great. But this is confusing. When on my Syslogs tab and in my tree on left, if I click on an IP, then the right hand pane will show only messages relative to the IP I clicked on. However, if I am on my SNMP Traps tab and in my tree on left, if I click on an IP, then the righ...

gthe, Thanks for the plugin and for all the help you give. On the instruction page http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=26040 Item # 7 says to shell> chmod 755 /sbin/syslogtomysql shell> chown root:root /sbin/syslogtomysql I found that to be a problem with My Ubuntu install. Changed to chmod 777 ...

Well after installing on a fresh Ubuntu machine all seems good except when Ubuntu boots I get this error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) I have found that if I delete /sbin/syslogtomysql file the error goes away. here is my sc...

gthe, Great news. Followed your instructions and camm loaded with zero errors for the first time. Then I looked in the camm setup/1st run logs and again, no errors. Then looked for syslog messages but none coming in. So, since I am using CatiEZ rather than a fresh install I created a plugin_camm_sys...

Thanks, Will give this a try in a couple hours and let you know. One thing I did not mention was that my OS is 64bit (CentOS 64Bit v4.7). Don't think that would matter but something I had not mentioned before. I also used 64bit install when I set up the Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid server to test. Thanks again.

Just did a fresh install on a new cacti install and still getting this error in the cacti log. This is excluding the plugin_camm_syslog_incoming errors that is still there, but as mentioned I decided to abort using that db anyway so ignoring those. Would really love to get this thing working, but ju...

Okay, some progress. I think the script must have got corrupted along the way. I downloaded it again, made my proxy, user, pswd etc changes and bingo. It installed !!! However, I did end up with a couple errors. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. See below. cacti-plugin-arch/cacti-plugin-0.8.7g...
