Cacti WIKI

Will there be a Cacti WIKI here? I think the Cacti's user base is big enough to build a decent WIKI.

Yes. The OID is actually the total number of things it processed since boot time. It is certainly a Counter in nature. But the device uses an INTEGER(GUAGE) for that OID. Is there any way to force snmpget to interpret that OID as Counter instead of INTEGER? Or does Cacti has some sort of mechnism to...

I have just checked. I have set the type to COUNTER in cacti. And the data polled is really a counter, and cacti ploted meaningful graph when the data got is positive. But I found that when I try to snmpget that OID manually, I got the following result: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.xxxx = INTEGER: -19776...

ERROR: not a simple integer: '-748190269'

Hi all! I created a graph yesterday, and it ploted a line correctly. But the line suddenly stopped a few hours ago. And I found the following error message when I try to run poller.php manually: $ php poller.php ... OK u:0.02 s:0.02 r:15.26 OK u:0.02 s:0.02 r:15.26 OK u:0.02 s:0.02 r:15.26 ERROR: no...

Missed one table.

The field snmp_index of graph_local needed to be enlarged to varchar(100) in order to make the |query_*| work correctly with data query of long snmp_index.

New info: I found that the "snmp_index" stored in the database is defined as varchar(60), bnd F5 BigIP requires an index longer than that. My work-around is to set the "snmp_index" field in the table host_snmp_cache and data_local to varchar(100). After removing and re-creating t...

New info:

I found that the OID stored in the database poller_item.arg1 is already truncated. But the other table (called data_????_???) stored the correct OID. Manually update the poller_item.arg1 entry make the poller works again.

OID Too Long?

I am trying to pool a very long OID, without success. The cacti log shows that my very long OID (10x char) was trimmed into a 90 char OID, and the device returned "U". Has anyone faced this problem before? Is there any limit on the length of OID made in PHP script? The OID stored in the my...

I have some concern about adding RRA.... Once we change the "step" in data template, we basically shortened the duration of each Primary Data Point (PDP). Then, the previously defined RRA like "Yearly (1 Day Average)", which was told to consolidate 288 PDPs to form a 1 Day Averag...

Add new source data in graph template

I have applied a graph template to serveral devices, and it worked. However, after I add a new "line" to the graph template that plots a new data source, the old graphs stop working instantly. And I try to "edit" the graph of each device, I found that the data source for the new ...

No need to change source data. But multiply the data by 1M when it is graphed.

Step 1) Create a new cdef.
have a look of the cdef "multiply by 1024". Then create a new cdef yourself.

Step 2) Apply the cdef to the data
At your graph template, use the newly created cdef.
