could it be something related to FreeBSD ?

I'm having a similar problem. My script returns U ( empty results) when i use spine ( i tried spine 087a and 087e).
If i use cmd.php it works fine.
Here's a freebsd 8.0 with cacti 087g.
How do i test it with spine ?
