0.8.7g : wrong ping method used for reachability checks...
Hello, I am running cacti 0.8.7g and some weeks ago I moved my instance from a vmware virtualized machine to a physical server. I installed cacti from scratch on the new physical server and then dumped the sql tables on the running cacti to restore them on the new system (and transferring rrd files)...

Very high load under spine and scripts not working (CMD OK)
Hello, On monday, my cacti system (cacti version 0.8.7.e and cactid as poller) suddenly began to experience very high CPU load during polling cycles and most of the graphs using perl scripts for data collection began showing no data. I still don't know what is causing this cpu load (this linux syste...

Spine 0.8.7.g : multithreading issue ?
Hi there,
When looking in my cacti log file, I notice the following message.
This may be a stupid question bu should I configure anything to enable spine multithreading ?
Thanks.
When looking in my cacti log file, I notice the following message.
Code: Select all
10/14/2010 10:35:01 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] NOTE: Spine did not detect multithreaded device polling.
Thanks.

Actions history ?
Hi there, Is there a log "somewhere" listing the actions performed previously (device addition, template creation,....) ? My system has been suffering from very high CPU utilization for a few days and I would like to check if some actions could be the cause of this sudden spike. I have a b...

Thanks for these infos, I will look at them to fine-tune. By increasing the log level and looking directly in cacti log file, I have spotted an equipment for which Cacti was configured with duplicate queries. As I collect lots of interfaces data from this equipment and with a ~300ms response time on...

poller reaching time limit : where to check the causes ?
Hello, From the poller information I can see that I am nearly reaching the maximum time of 300s for the poller to complete all the tasks (lots of equipment/interfaces checked over slow Wan links). Is there a way to check what specific tasks or checks are taking time so that I can try to optimize the...

Graph templates list not appearing when creating new devices
Hi, Here is the situation : I have host templates that include graph templates. When I add new devices with those host templates, the associated graph templates are not automatically included with the devices : I have to manually create the required graph types from the pop-up menu under the "C...

Hi there, I have the exact same problem (I reported some times ago with no luck....). For some reason, after some changes (device addition in the tree), the tree menu get screwed up. My only solution so far is to restore mysql graph_tree_items.* files to the last known working version. I have severa...
