SNMP Get Timeout for Host and OID
Cacti has been working great, for the most part, however it stopped logging anything for about a half hour, a time when I needed to see what was going on with some UPSupplies... During troubleshooting I looked and saw that the log file was large. Over and over in the log are: SNMP Get Timeout for Ho...

Re: Syslog from VMware ESXi 5 hosts
Ok, so I tried it with the VMWare Syslog Collector on the VCenter server. Can see the logs, which contain the syslog data. I also discovered that the logging level is under advanced\config in the configuration section for each host. The logging level is currently set to verbose(firehose). So I wonde...

Syslog from VMware ESXi 5 hosts
Syslog 1.22 on Cacti Version: 0.8.7h, Plugin Architecture Version: 3.0. I have started pointing my VMware hosts to syslog in Cacti. The host showed up in syslog, however no syslog messages show up... Also, simultaneously, something called "Section" showed up with a single syslog message: &...

Help with Syslog
I have managed to get the syslog plugin installed. I'm running 0.8.7h. My question is how to get data from remote devices to show up. I'm only seeing data from the localhost... I have two other devices on the network and in the same subnet pointing their UDP port 514 syslog messages facility 7 to my...

Missing Data / snmp get timeout for host
I have been using 0.8.7g(with all current patches) since July of 2010. Everything has been working fine. Starting today, there are "bands" of missing data, from every device. The timing of the missing data bands is the same on every device. So I have assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that this...

Re: Lots of Oracle-DB Templates if anyone shows interest
Yea, it's port 1611. Actually, it has to be that port. There is something in an Oracle config file somewhere that sets that port, and I haven't been able to find it. In other words, if I try to use the standard SNMP port I get nothing, unless of course I'm not using the emsubagent. In my experiences...

Re: Lots of Oracle-DB Templates if anyone shows interest
Cacti 0.8.7g on Centos 5.5. Oracle 10g on Windows 2K3 R2 SP2. After much trouble(shooting) we managed to get the subagent running. However, I get this when walking it: [root@cacti_server ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c -c public oracle_server:1161 .1.3.6.1.4.1.111.4 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.111.4 = No more variab...

Re: How to get drive to show up
Ok, I guess it's simple... 1. I had to add the disk/partition to the snmpd.conf file: includeAllDisks disk /dev/sdb1 disk /SCSI-0:1 Restart snmpd 2. Verbose query of ucd/net(not unix) get mounted partitions, just to make sure it shows up 3. Create Graph for this Host using the ucd/net get mounted pa...

How to get drive to show up
Ok, I know it's probably a simple question/answer, :) but: I have a VMware VDR appliance(Centos 5.2) I'm trying to monitor, the Destination location, which is /dev/sdb1. When I walk it I don't see it and it doesn't come up when I use "create graphs for this host". How can I tell Cacti to g...

How to talk SNMP with 2008 Core Servers
I installed SNMP on two 2008 Core servers via "ocsetup SNMP-SC". Now the services show up. However, the services aren't "traditional" in that there is nowhere to enter community and ip info for Cacti server. It appears that I needed to import a registry key to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...
