Yeah, I actually tried both functions.php. The one posted by TheWitness and also the one by mcutting.

But anyway, as I found another way to fix my error, I might have gotten the same error message, but the cause seems like it might have different entirely.

Interesting... Installing and using rrdtool 1.2.25 has also fixed the problem for me. I do wonder what exactly has changed though. 0.8.7 also is working fine for me on another machine which is using rrdtool 1.2.23. Perhaps 0.8.7 needs a minimum rrdtool 1.2.x version?
