Fresh installation of 8.8a on Ubuntu/ plugin problems

Hi Just build a 12.10 box and apt-get installed cacti. Everything went well and it seems to function ok. However, when I extract a plugin folder to /usr/share/cacti/site/plugins things start to go wrong. The plugin management page shows the new plugins and I can install/activate them. This gives me ...

I've just gone back in to look again at the problem and clicked the gps tab to discover it's not all working. I've not done anything since I emailed you other than reboot the system (it ran out of swap for some reason) so no whave no idea what happened. had icons in v 8.7e but now they've gone

ok this is odd. I downloaded from the first page and setup the plugin in the usual way. Everything went ok and I had pins on the map which changed colour etc. Then I saw that version 1.53 was out on page 8 so replaced mine with this and now I have no icons. Have changed the permissions on the XML fo...

ok thanks Kosta. I've been doing that as and when new servers decide not to respond in time week after week.

Guess I'll continue doing this and monitor how long it takes to finish the poll run.

Increasing ping timeouts and the pitfalls

Hi all, After much digging around I'm yet to find a definitive answer to this question. If I increase the ping times from the default 400ms to something like 24000 i.e. 24 seconds is this going to have a huge impact on my system? The reason I think I'm going to have to make such a huge increase is t...

How are the polling stats calculated

I've just been asked by someone how these are calculated and it just occurred to me that I don't know. How are things like network and processor usage calculated using the built in templates? Do they poll every 5 minutes and take a quick snap-shot of what the current usage is then post that to cacti...

Discovery plugin

I've used cacti for a while now (despite my very poor post count!) and always assumed that the latest plug-ins for PA would be found here http://cactiusers.org/ How/why is it that the discovery plug-in is listed with completely different versions here: http://docs.cacti.net/plugin:discovery#download...

plugin Arch not displaying after weathermap

Hey all I had everything working but with an older version of weathermap. Renamed weathermap plugin folder to weathermapold and added the new weathermap folder in it's place. I have other plugins installed and all work fine. If I rename/delete the weathermap folder everything is displayed again and ...
