Aha! Thanks for your help...
I tried the additional SNMP walk and got bubkus. That sent me back to snmpd.conf which had a slightly longer than useful oid in the pass command. So... not only can I not read, I can also not type. Excellent!

OK... template problem solved... but now...
I updated Cacti to latest 8.7b. Update was super easy, certainly easier than trying to modify templates. The templates are all now imported. New issue... no data on the graphs. I looked inside the iostat.cache file and the content in there looks great. iostats are presented just as one would expect....

XML Hash Version Does Not Exist
Hi Mark, Many thanks for your work on this. I have the iostat/SNMP portion of this working great and get information back from my target system using snmp walk. I am however getting the much maligned "Error XML Hash Version Does Not Exist" error when trying to import all but the cacti_data...
