Re: How to debug script server operation?
More information: Found out yesterday that while Cacti thinks it's killing off the script servers, it isn't. Hundreds of them continue running while Cacti spawns more and more until the machine eventually runs out of RAM. We're now getting this in the logs: 08/09/2011 04:07:02 AM - POLLER: Poller[0]...

Re: How to debug script server operation?
Awesome! I'll spin up a new binary and give it a shot. I'm suuuuuper frustrated with Cacti right now - it's running fine, fine fine, fine, omg poller exceeded 58s!!!, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, omg it did it again!!! - and it's all with script server stuff. We've been using Cacti for years and ye...

How to debug script server operation?
System: Ubuntu 10.04, Cacti 0.8.7e, Boost. We started using the script server a few weeks ago, when our execution time consistently fell above 60s. Apparently, since activating it, every Cacti run has this in the log: 08/06/2011 11:34:09 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SS[9] PHP Script Server communica...

cacti exporting all graphs after upgrade?
upgraded to 0.8.7e today and now cacti exports _everything_ no matter whether it's configured to or not. it sent load up to > 50 and created massive gaps in every other graph. i've been prowling around in the code and the database but am unable to find what criteria the code looks for to determine i...

After upgrade to 0.8.7e with PA 2.5 all graphs are exported
Not sure where this is coming from, since graph_export.php changed dramatically between 0.8.7c and 0.8.7e, but with the former we only had 3 graphs exported. With the latter it exports everything , ignoring the "export" permissions field in the database. Does anyone else see this behavior ...

Where to run boost server?
I'm having some issues with Boost (2.4, 0.8.7e) that are more architectural than anything. I currently run Cacti on a pair of systems clustered with heartbeat and DRBD, which do all the polling, updating, and HTTP serving of the content. I have MySQL running on a different cluster. I'd like to split...

roe1234 - Please see Roddie's post from 2006: The fix is to edit each of the CDEFs (Graph Management/CDEFs) and replace the following values in each of the Custom Strings. replace bc with d replace g with c Once this is done, the graphs should start displaying again. Your rrdtool output shows that y...

boost server, "illegal attempt to update"
I'm having problems with Boost. I was running on a single host and have been having problems with the number of hosts/services we're polling, so I'd like to move to a distributed poller model. I understand Boost is the way to go, but it doesn't seem to be working as expected. I've had the on-demand ...

as i've been running this, it's been taking longer and longer to run as my queue size increases. i decided to change it today, and instead of graphing the number of messages in each queue, i now graph the size of each queue. this gives me analogous data, since my interest is in whether or not mail i...
