SNMPv2?

I've been monitoring using SNMPv1 because I don't know for sure what version the switches have on them.

For the most part I'm monitoring Nortel switches, models BPS 2000, BayStack 450 and BayStack 470.

Was SNMPv2 required for monitoring routers that reindex or just traffic monitoring period?

Mbytes not the issue

The graphs that I'm creating are indeed in Mbytes, but still, I'm sure there's more going through these links than that. The ports I'm monitoring are gigabit fiber uplinks, each serving several college residence halls. Especially during evening hours I find it unlikely that the average for any of th...

Solution Follow-Up

Thanks to TheWitness for pointing me in the right direction on this. I did a google for the problem and found a page that had a solution: http://trantor.imit.kth.se/courses/2g1332/projects/snmp/common.html Basically, what I had to do was append the path '/usr/local/lib' onto the environment variable...

Library File Permissions

Actually I haven't checked the permissions, but I've been trying to execute cactid as the superuser, so that wouldn't make a difference, would it?

Thanks for the reply.

Cactid Execution Error

I have installed Cacti 0.8.5a on RedHat Linux 7.3, and everything appears to be functioning properly. I wanted to get a performance boost so I can monitor a large network with several hundred interfaces. I configured/made/installed cactid, and now when I try to execute the binary, I get the followin...
