Good idea, a debug mode : thanks to that, it seems spine is stuck on a request to the database (see at the end of the log). When I try to send this request directly in phpMy...

replace ping.c from cacti-spine-0.8.7a with ping.c from cacti-spine-0.8.7. Its work for me even using icmp ping. I've tested three different version of spine : - 0.8.7a, - 0.8.7a with 0.8.7 ping.c (following sizulku's advice), - 0.8.7 Each time, I executed the following code : aclocal libtoolize --...

In the device page information of local host, make sure you have filled in the field "SNMP Community" with the value "public". It worked for me.

[SOLVED] Installing Spine 0.8.7a...
Hi everyone, I'm new in the Cacti community : I'm testing Cacti 0.8.7 for a week now, running on Ubuntu 7.10 (maybe it's the cause of the problem...). I would like to install Spine so I followed the instructions on that page : http://cacti.net/spine_install_rhlnx.php However, when I go to cacti-spin...

Exactly the same problem. I'm trying to monitor an Oracle database and I found this topic : http://forums.cacti.net/about7567-0-asc-0.html But I was unable to make it work. Using SNMP is quite complicated to deploy. I think it might be more simple to use perl script like the ones you can find on Nag...
