Re: Syslog-Plugin not processing messages

Thanks for your reply. This was no upgrade. I completely removed old syslog plugin and did a new install. I dropped the table as you mentioned, but I can't create a new because of: ERROR 1067 (42000): Invalid default value for 'logtime' I changed it to: `logtime` timestamp NOT NULL DEFAULT '1970-01-...

Syslog-Plugin not processing messages

Hello, I have Cacti 1.2.10 with syslog-plugin 2.9 on Ubuntu 18.04. In mysql I can see syslog messages arriving the syslog_incoming table. But nothing is moved to syslog_logs and so I cant see anything in syslog-tab. I have some log entries which maybe indicate some malfunctioning. Thanks in advance....

... must change password... for local user not working

I am using Cacti 1.1.37 with enabled LDAP authentication. This works fine. But I also have some "local" users, which are not part of our domain and when I try to force them to change their password at next login, that doesn't work. They are able to log in with the old PW and nothing else h...

Re: cannot compile spine 0.8.8c on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

OK, I tried something and succeeded. But I think this is only a workaround. Someone with more knowledge should take care of this phenomenon. As I mentioned before the "LDFLAGS" thing worked for the ./configure. After getting the make error I took a bit time to think about it and came to th...

Re: cannot compile spine 0.8.8c on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

Hallo, I have exactly the same problem on a 64bit Ubuntu 14.0.4 LTS and a 32bit Debian testing/Jessie system. Because I have succesfully compiled spine 0.8.8a+b on both machines, I assume that I have everything I need. Now I stumbled about this thread and tested the "LDFLAGS"-thing. This w...

Re: Problems with snmp v3

OK, seems to bee the same issue I got, as you can see here . Since yet, I think there is no solution. One thing you maybe can test is - setting the "Downed Device Detection" to Ping. In my case the device came up and I was able to draw graphs. But this is only a workaround. Please tell me ...

Re: Grpahs not showing after PIA install

Sorry, but at this point I am a bit helpless :(

Only a shot in the dark, is the package snmp-mibs-downloader installed?
Sure, you can test to reconfigure/recompile spine. Its worth a try.

Sorry for not being helpful in this case.

Re: Grpahs not showing after PIA install

Hmmmmm, never seen such messages before.

So, only a guess - is your SNMP installation correct?
Are you able to do a snmpwalk against your devices?

Re: Grpahs not showing after PIA install

OK, that seems to be the problem (I hope so  )

Is your spine.conf in the same directory as spine executable?
If so, check read permissions, cactiuser needs read permissions to the conf file.

Re: Grpahs not showing after PIA install

spine directory and spine executable should have rx permissions for cactiuser.

Please go to spine directory and execute ./spine

Do you get any output?

Re: SNMP v3 aes troubles

Hallo waterboy, short answer is - yes, I got it to work. But I also have some issues with v3. First lets check what are the differences between your config and mine. SNMP Options section: ================ SNMP Version: Version 3 SNMP Username: UseYourName (case sensitive) SNMP Password: the string y...
