Still not working upon reboot, any idea?

I had problelms with apache and mysql starting automatically. The startup files appeared to be there but didn't work. Got this error again.

It turns out that SNMP that comes with HPUX is not sufficient, you have to install NET-SNMP. That fixed it.

I agree about the difficult part, but I had issues even with the tar ball. Couldn't get it working for a while. It was patches and other cofiguration issues.

I am running cacti version 0.8.6j

I renamed the log file which got huge due to debugging.

Then I did "cat /dev/null > cacti.log"

Ever since then, nothing is written to this file.

How can restart cacti or the daemon that's responsible for the log file?

The problem was, an SNMP sub-agent was not running.

So it was a tricky problem.

What does this error mean?
