So far so good.
After doing even deeper searching I see that baselining is a bit of a question mark on these forums, therefore I don't expect a reply. I installed Cacti in my lab to do some testing on this and it turns out that yes, this does seem to work. So far. I'm going to do a bit more testing. Once I get base...

Baseline only?
I apologize, but I'm a complete newbie on the thold plugin. Let me give a specific example... Bandwidth. Some links may be as low as 1.544Mbps. Some may be 10Gbps. I could setup a threshold template for each type of connection, but considering I have tens of thousands of interfaces, that would proba...

Re: Graphs stop updating after a time
Hosts: 677 Datasources: 79,566 That's quite HUGE. What is your polling time? Did you consider BOOST? Reinhard It's actually small compared to what I was originally going to do. Polling time is generally about 80 seconds after I do the "delete" command. Every polling cycle it increases. On...

Re: What OS are you using.
Redhat Enterprise. The latest as of a couple months go, not sure the version.chrisgapske wrote:What OS are you using and have you restarted php/httpd or your system?
Yep Everything's been restarted, including mysqld. Now that I think about it, the machine's even been shutdown and brought back up.

Graphs stop updating after a time
It looks like everything runs for a couple of hours, then stops working. My poll time at the beginning of the couple of hours is aout 80 seconds. It works its way up to about 120 seconds, then stops updating. Cactid no longer gives the SYSTEM STATS log message. I read on another thread sometime back...

[INFO] How to add a form field to a device
Not very intuitive, I had a bit of struggling, figured I'd post a HOWTO on this in the off chance someone searches for something similar 4 years from now. I have a series of scripts setup and want to create various levels of automatic graphing. For example, "No graphs", "No Interface ...

Re: Thanks, but...
Thanks for the info. At that level, I should be running 50 - 70 seconds, which isn't a problem. Any reason for me to run Boost still? It seems like although it's better for performance it may be a bit slower from the user perspective, no? I could move this question over to the appropriate forum if n...

Thanks, but...
Thank you all for your replies, but on my machine MySQL decides it's had enough somewhere around 35k - 40k graphs. Unfortunately having a seperate MySQL server isn't an option at this time. So I've decided to cut back a bit and not graph switch interfaces unless needed. I'll keep the devices modeled...

Huge Cacti installation - suggestions?
Dell 2850 - 2 x 3.4GHz Xeon processor, 4GB RAM, RedHat Enterprise. Currently 0.8.6j with cactid, plan to use 0.8.7. I have about a thousand devices, all either routers, switches, or similar network devices. We want to collect data for EVERYTHING. That is, there will be about 150,000 graphs. We need ...

Re: RRD not being created, template-specific
Ok, after hours of looking around, I figured it out. Relatively simple solution, but it doesn't stand out anywhere and I don't see any documentation about it... In the data query, Associated Data Templates section, I had the right datasources selected, but they weren't checked.

RRD not being created, template-specific
Before you link to a topic telling me that I have a permissions problem, know that it isn't a permissions problem. It's template-specific. Ok, so here's what's up. When I create a graph using the regular Interface - Traffic template that comes with Cacti, everything is fine. However, when I create a...

It appears to be something to do with my template. However, I'll leave the thread open incase anyone has ideas.

SQL Exec Failed
Getting the following message when I try to add a new graph. This is the latest & greatest version (ends with J). Thoughts? Ideas? CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Exec Failed "update graph_templates_graph set Upper Limit='|query_ifSpeed|' where local_graph_id=8" Interestingly enough, I ha...
