Has CA Anonimity Returned?

I notice we have a new female CA in 'slo' who has 3 posts to her name.

Does this mean that she is relatively new to these forums? - or has she taken a different member name for her CA duties?

I want to make clear that I welcome slo as a new CA wholeheartedly, and this is no slight or dig at her in any way, but it obviously seems strange that she has only 3 posts, when CA's are normally selected after a period of helping out around these forums with tech advice/problems etc.

Of course she could be from IBM/WCG staff - in which case that would explain this anomaly - and also I may say a very welcome addition - but conversely it could be that we have returned to the bad old days of CA anonimity.

I would welcome if someone could clarify this situation please so that no misunderstandings occur.

Ady smile

Re: Has CA Anonimity Returned?

Hi Adywebb,
slo (not sol) worked for the World Community Grid as a summer intern. She is back at the university now, which means she has little time available, but she wants to keep track. And we want to encourage her continued interest. Any more information about her will have to come from herself.

Re: Has CA Anonimity Returned?

You could not possibly be implying that Sol is one of your favourite beers????

My brain cannot compute, to even finish a bottle of that rubbish was a challenge.... <insert rant about how great homebrew is>....

Re: Has CA Anonimity Returned?

CA anonymity?? Huh?????

Has there ever been a CA who is NOT anonymous? Put another way, other than the CAs themselves and possibly few select members, does anybody know who the CAs are? I doubt it. If Lawrence tells you he is or is not Alther, how can anyone really know? If Didactylos tells you is NOT Nelsoc then how can anybody outside of a selct few prove otherwise.

Has CA anonimity returned? Has it ever been any other way?

Re: Has CA Anonimity Returned?

Does it make a difference?

I really don't see an issue here.
