I followed the links and looked into it. I'm satisfied in myself this isn't a scam. Of course people need to make up they're own minds and that's what I hope they will do.

This thing doesn't require registration or installation, it just generates and sends fake data to the spammers database.

... download and run a program. Sort of sounds like the WCG and other grid computing projects, doesn't it. ... Which, I think, is precisely the reason (suspicion and distrust) why we have so much difficulty recruiting volunteers. And that's why I think we need to educate the public that at least certain identified grid projects, like the WCG, are safe. And a good way -- perhaps the easiest place to start -- is with our children in our schools. Yep; I'm promoting my 'Project 2plus2is4' again. Let's try to fix the problem. See link, below.
